This is Cobol, a female Blue Cobalt African Cichlid (Maylandia callainos). I bought it in May 2003 when it was around 4 months old. To read more about how I came to own this beautiful fish, click here.

Four years later, Cobol has a brand new tank in a brand new city! The tank capacity is 75 gallons, and all the equipment (filter, heater, air pump, lighting) is top-notch or close to it. I guess you could say that I spoil this thing, but I've enjoyed having it so much that it's worth it. I still love to watch it interact with its environment, exploring, and still doing things I've never seen it do before. It even likes to eat directly off my finger, as you can see in the pix.
